Self-storage web design & development
A storage site is not a brochure. It’s a booking engine.
Built around how people actually book storage: live unit availability, instant quotes, real bookings, all integrated with the systems you already run.
14+ self-storage operators built for · 96 mobile PageSpeed · Quickfit, OrangeBox, Sheeplands and more
Why generic web agencies fail self-storage
When someone searches for storage, they want three answers fast.
Do you have a unit my size, what does it cost, and how soon can I move in. A site that takes them through five pages of marketing copy before showing a unit price is a site that’s losing 60 to 70% of its visitors to competitors with quoter widgets above the fold.
Most operators run unit availability inside an operations system (Stora, SiteLink, storEDGE, Easystorage, custom CRMs) that the public site needs to read from in real time. Hard-coded “we have units available, call us” is the lazy answer. The proper answer is API integration that pulls live availability and pricing into the page, so what the visitor sees is what they get.
We’ve been building self-storage sites for over four years. Quickfit, A Team for Storage, OrangeBox, Sheeplands, Aerospheres: all sector-specific builds, all integrated with the operator’s real stack.
Single-facility
One location, one quoter, one booking flow. Focus on local SEO and conversion.
Multi-facility
Location selector, per-facility availability, distinct content per location, a navigation that doesn’t hide the nearest facility three clicks deep.
Stora-ready
On Stora, we plug straight in via Stora X. On SiteLink, storEDGE or bespoke, we integrate with what you have.
What changes when the site is built right
Faster bookings. More of them.
How we help
Built for self-storage.
Live availability + pricing
Real-time unit availability pulled from your operations system. No more “call us to check”.
Quoter + booking flow
Storage Quoter and Storage Booking widgets, configurable for single or multi-facility, with email + SMS confirmation.
Multi-location architecture
Location selector, per-facility pages with distinct content and reviews, scalable URLs that compound for SEO.
Mobile-first, conversion-tuned
Most storage searches happen on mobile under stress. Layouts tuned for one-handed completion in under 90 seconds.
Stora X integration
Our proprietary middleware connects WordPress sites directly to Amax Connect for live availability, pricing and booking sync.
Performance + Core Web Vitals
Storage sites are speed-critical for UX and rankings. Builds typically score 90+ on PageSpeed before optimisation.
What we hear on first audit calls
Site problems losing operators bookings.
“Visitors land, look around, and leave without enquiring.”
Almost always a no-quoter-above-the-fold problem. We move it to be the first thing they see; conversion typically doubles.
“We have to manually update unit prices every month.”
You’re running flat HTML pages. We integrate with your operations system so prices come from the source, updated site-wide.
“We have 4 facilities but the site only really features one.”
Classic multi-facility-on-single-facility architecture. We rebuild with proper location architecture, equal SEO weight per facility.
“People still have to call us to book and pay.”
Stora (or your PMS) already handles the booking and payment itself. We wire the flow so it launches straight from the site, no phone call needed.
How we work
A clear process. No black boxes.
Discovery + audit
Current site audit, operations stack review, conversion benchmark, build scope.
Wireframes + UX
Calculator-first layouts, multi-facility navigation, mobile-first booking flow, signed off before visual design.
Build + integrations
WordPress build with Stora X / API integrations, quoter + booking widgets wired to your PMS’s own checkout, CRM hooks.
Launch + iterate
Soft launch, conversion testing, SEO transition, 60-day post-launch optimisation cycle.
Case spotlight
Old site was marketing-first: hero banner, three sections of brand copy, then a hunt through the menu to find products. Rebuilt with the configurator front and centre, marketing copy stripped to one sentence, landing-to-enquiry under 30 seconds. Same patterns work on storage sites: lead with the quoter, hide nothing, get out of the way.
How we build for self-storage
Conversion-led, not design-led.
Storage sites have one job: convert browsers into enquiries. Everything else is wallpaper.
- Calculator-first or it doesn’t ship. The quoter is above the fold, period.
- Real integrations, not iframes. No widget pretending to be native.
- Mobile-first, fully tested on real devices in real network conditions.
- Owned by you, not us. WordPress, no agency lock-in.
- SEO-aware from the start: URLs, schema, sitemaps, redirects done properly.

A real working version of our Storage Quoter, the same one running on operator sites today. Pick a location, choose a size, a move-in date: the same flow your customers would see.
Self-storage FAQ
You’re probably wondering…
Do you build on WordPress, Webflow, or custom?
WordPress for almost every storage build. It has the right balance of flexibility, SEO control, and ownership. Custom builds are possible for operators with very specific operational requirements.
How long does a storage site build take?
6 to 12 weeks for a single-facility build, 10 to 16 weeks for multi-facility. Faster if content is ready and feedback is responsive.
Do you handle the migration from our old site?
Yes. URL mapping, 301 redirects, content migration, image transfer, SEO transition plan. Done properly, migration causes no traffic loss.
Can you integrate with our existing CRM or operations system?
Almost always yes. We’ve integrated with Stora (via our Stora X plugin), SiteLink, storEDGE, Easystorage, and several custom systems.
Do you do design only, build only, or both?
Both, and we generally insist on doing both. Splitting design from build creates handoff problems and conversion compromises.
Is this web design, web development, or both?
Both. “Self-storage web design” and “self-storage web development” describe the same job here: the visual design and the booking-engine build come from the same team, on the same brief, so there is no handoff gap between how it looks and how it books.
What about ongoing support?
Optional support retainer covers updates, security patches, content changes, performance monitoring and small feature work.
Will the site work for a single facility now and scale to multi later?
Yes. We typically build the architecture multi-facility ready from day one, even for a single location.
